About

Hannah Proviance's life-long love of books began when her father, a corrections officer, read to her from The Hobbit every night before bed. This love continued as her Grandmother, a second grade teacher and wife of a college librarian, kept up this tradition with the Serendipity books, biographies, and the Boxcar Children.

When she was thirteen, she read Mara Daughter of the Nile by Eloise Jarvis McGraw. That was the book that inspired her to write her own stories. From that moment on she has budded as an aspiring author.

Several of her poems and a story excerpt were published in her high school creative writing magazine and in college she studies teaching, art, and theatre. She's worked in call centers doing market research and credit card retention; worked with elderly individuals as well as autistic youths through in-home health care. She's also worked at a smoke and liquor store, a restaurant, and on and air conditioning assembly line for York International.

While life has pulled a couple of fast ones, she holds to a "one foot in front of the other, just keep going" attitude. Current projects include short stories and poetry as well as three novels in progress: Balance Breaker, Vampire Guard, and Chasing Elementals. She's a regular participant in National Novel Writer's Month and has completed two drafts of her novels during these events. She writes Urban Fantasy, Fantasy, Young Adult Fiction, and Paranormal Romance.

Hannah currently lives in the Inland Northwest with her fiance and a sneaky, ninja cat named Narcisa. When not reading or writing, she's usually watching movies, PBS dramas, playing D&D, or spending time with friends and family.
